It is our core belief that educational experiences abroad build vital global awareness and citizenry, we are your number one resource as you study, serve or intern abroad.
We help you find the meaningful study abroad opportunities that fit you and your path at Seattle University. With over 400 students participating in International Programs annually, we support you as you navigate the vast options available, find programs that help you earn credit toward your degree, prepare you for your time away and assist in your reintegration upon return.
We also support faculty and staff as they develop their own programs and advise their students on how and when to incorporate a study abroad experience into their academic plans and schedules.
To start your journey abroad, our Explore Programs page offers a wealth of information, from Programs, Financial Planning, to Health and Safety and much more. All interested students will be invited join our EAO Canvas course, which will accompany you throughout your education abroad journey, from exploration, preparation, to reentry, and other tools to help you prepare to launch your education abroad experience. Redhawk students fly far and wide to discover more about themselves, gain field and language experience and develop themselves as global citizens. Halló! My name is Owen. I will be studying abroad in Iceland this summer (2022) with Wildlands Studies. Perhaps unsurprisingly, as an Environmental Science major I am beyond excited to gain field research backpacking around the land of fire and ice. Far, far from my home in Seattle, I will be immersed in one of the most unique and fascinating geological and biological landscapes on this planet. With fjords and glaciers on the horizon, I can't help but smile. I hope you will join me as I share my experience roughin' it in the Arctic Circle!
I am Shannon Allen, a second year (soon to be third year) Environmental Science student with a Film Studies minor. I am studying abroad in Madrid, Spain for fall of 2022 and I am doing a staff lead trip to Paris, France this summer. I have not traveled much at all in my life so this will be a very new experience for me. I am more than excited to get out of my comfort zone and share about my travels.
Rachel Adamek spent the summer studying Korean in Busan, South Korea as an awardee of the 2019 U.S. Department of State’s Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Program. In 2019, Rachel was one of only 550 competitively selected American students representing 233 colleges and universities across the United States to receive a CLS award. The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government effort to expand the number of Americans studying and mastering critical foreign languages. CLS scholars gain critical language and cultural skills in languages that are less commonly taught in U.S. schools, but are essential for America’s engagement with the world, contributing to U.S. economic competitiveness and national security.
