Art & Visual Culture Studies
The minor in art history is designed for students who seek to study art history in depth as a complement to their major area of study. The minor teaches students how to look at and write about art, and how to understand and interpret visual culture using a variety of disciplinary and inter-disciplinary methods.
In order to earn a minor in art history, students must complete 35 credits in art history, including studies in prehistoric through modern art, and a variety of electives. Students wishing to declare a minor in art history need to file a Request to Add a Minor form with the Office of the Registrar.
NOTE: Interdisciplinary arts and visual arts majors may not earn a minor in art history.
