MS. Kinesiology
We look to empower our students to consider the positive impact that exercise can have on the whole person. As a result of our efforts, Seattle University has recently earned the title of an Exercise is Medicine campus by the American College of Sports Medicine.
When you earn your degree in Kinesiology, you are ready for employment in community, clinical, industry, and medical settings. The strong foundation in human function and performance provides many students with knowledge necessary to pursue graduate studies in related fields of athletic training, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and general sports science.
Either directly following your undergraduate experience or upon return after working in the field, you can continue your graduate education here at Seattle University. You have the option to pursue either a research track or an applied track, both of which lead to employment in a wide variety of medical and allied health fields and clinical and non-clinical health services.
The mobile laboratory is an innovative solution to invest in our students and community by providing portable technology that can be used for education, research, and community engagement. The mobile lab removes boundaries that limit our impact on human function and performance. It is our model for the future of Kinesiology and a way of empowering the next generation to create societal impact through human movement.
Our Exercise is Medicine On Campus program has been awarded silver status by the American College of Sports Medicine since 2019. Silver status recognizes universities that not only promote physical activity on campus through events but also provide education and guidance to students and faculty about physical activity and the health benefits associated with leading a physically active lifestyle.
