The Exercise is Medicine Club has two main goals:
The club is registered with the American College of Sports Medicine’s (ACSM) Exercise is Medicine on Campus (EIM-OC) initiative. EIM-OC encourages faculty, staff and students to work together toward improving the health and well-being of their campus community. As such, our Exercise is Medicine Club has enabled Seattle University to achieve silver status recognition with ACSM EIM-OC since 2019 which shows our commitment to educate students, faculty and staff about the benefits of increased physical activity and dedication to creating a culture of wellness on campus.
The club meets 1-2 times quarterly. Meetings are informal and casual, as the club wants members to use the meetings as a time to connect with other students from the Kinesiology major and work together to plan events for both our students and the greater campus community around physical activity and the field of Kinesiology.
