ABOUT SEATTLE PLAY THERAPY
Seattle Play Therapy is a small private play therapy practice in Seattle. The organization's mission is to provide quality therapeutic care for children and families. Seattle Play Therapy strives to create a work culture that balances a supportive community while promoting individual professional growth.
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
- This is an employee, W-2 status position (not an Independent Contractor position)
- Compensation is competitive and includes a percentage of billable hours (DOE/license level), paid administrative time, paid sick time, and training stipend (amount depends on hours worked)
- Client referrals
- Administrative support (invoicing, billing, insurance eligibility and credentialing etc.)
- Full access to thoughtfully compiled playroom, art supplies, office supplies, adult/teen sand tray room, waiting room, a large collection of professional development books and resources, and children's library etc.
- Opportunity to work for an employer and with a team that supports and values the healing power of play, in addition to your own professional growth and development as a play therapist
- Supervision from a Registered Play Therapist – Supervisor
- APT-Approved Continuing Education towards the Registered Play Therapist Credential and licensure CEUs, through SPT's trainings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Fully Licensed with the Department of Health (not currently considering Associate Licenses)
- Available to work Saturday and/or Sundays, completing 8-12 client hours per week. Client hours can be scheduled on Saturdays and/or Sundays and one weekday (optional), making up a total of 8-12 client hours per week. [This has the opportunity to grow into a full time position].
- Able to start in late April
- Eligible for employment in the state of WA
- Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, marriage and family therapy, social work or related field
- Experience working therapeutically with children
- Knowledge and passion for working with children, specifically through play therapy
- Effective communicator. Empathic and warm presence
- Strong clinical skills and understanding of family dynamics, childhood behaviors and attachment theory
- Passion for personal growth and lifelong learning
- Strong team member – supportive, honest, compassionate, invested, trustworthy, aware, intuitive, flexible and motivated
