Today we come to you with some exciting news! Two of the teams that competed in the 2020 Harriet Stephenson Business Plan Competition have made it both through the Top 30 round, and now have made it to the Final round, the "Sweet 16"! This makes it so that Seattle University is the only other university (other than UW-Seattle) to have more than one team make it through the semi-finals, let alone the final round of this regional competition. These teams are:
Pail
(In the Final Four) - Kristian Swank, MBA ’20, Siri Angeles, MBA ‘20
Votegrity
(Audience Choice Award) - Tom Thomas, LEMBA ‘20
In the past, we have had teams who have placed well in the Dempsey Startup Competition, such as
- 2017: Discovery Health won 2nd Place
- 2018: Six of the 36 teams in the investment round were SeattleU Teams
- 2019: 2nd Degree Snacks made it into the Sweet 16 Round.
We are proud of these teams who not only are simultaneously competing in two competitions, but also doing so in the midst of the challenges we are currently facing. We look forward to seeing how these teams continue to perform in the competition!
