The Early Career MBA program gave me the tools, edge, and knowledge I needed to feel confident going into the workforce. Not only do you learn about the many different parts of business, but you get to spend time figuring out what parts you are passionate about and what you can bring to the table. I am so glad I did this program.
I was drawn into the Early Career MBA (Bridge MBA) program because I was looking for an in-person program that allowed me to complete my MBA in a short amount of time. It was exciting to be a part of a cohort composed of students with interdisciplinary backgrounds because it exposed me to various perspectives and made learning new business concepts less daunting. The cohort system also gave me a built-in professional network and support system, which I am still in contact with after graduation.
The Bridge/Early Career MBA Program provided me experiential learning that helped me land at a company where I feel valued, appreciated, and challenged to grow. Since the program maintains a predetermined schedule, I was able to intern for three different organizations while taking classes. This, combined with the comprehensive business concepts I learned throughout the program, allowed me to choose from multiple job offers before I graduated.
The Bridge/Early Career MBA program helped me gain a lot of new skills, qualifications, and work experiences in a relatively short period of time; I was able to reposition myself in the workforce, transition into a new industry with confidence, and accelerate my career. The program is career-driven; providing my classmates and me with a myriad of learnings, experiences and opportunities that directly translate into what I do in my new job today. It was a busy year filled with new friendships, opportunities, and adventures, for which I am grateful.
My Albers MBA set up a foundation for me to succeed in my early career. By integrating professional development events into our coursework, I was able to network and meet the company I now work for."
Earning my Bridge (Early Career) MBA after my BA in English and Creative Writing changed the conversation from “he can write but does he understand business” to “he understands business and he can write.” The Business Analytics class was especially relevant as it enabled me to structure analytical processes and approach data lakes with confidence. I graduated into a Technical Marketing Manager role responsible for developing corporate strategy initiatives and six months later was promoted to Senior Product Marketing Manager where I am leading and building a new data-driven approach to competitive strategy to further inform our corporate strategy.
As a person with many interests, it’s always been difficult trying to merge my undergraduate degree with a career that brought me joy and fulfillment. Very aptly named, the Bridge (Early Career) MBA program helped me do so. I’ve always been interested in a career in marketing but studied psychology in university because I also had a deep interest in all aspects of learning about people and their behavior. This MBA program filled in the areas that I was lacking in order to jumpstart my marketing career.
The Bridge (Early Career) MBA program provided me with the business background and critical thinking skills necessary for my role as a business analyst. Some skills and lessons that stood out to me and I continuously apply include public speaking, teamwork, negotiation, and project management. The Bridge program allowed me to pivot from a science undergraduate degree to a business/tech career.
I am extremely grateful for gaining hard skills that I didn't have while pursuing my Bachelors in English Literature. I was able to learn about different areas in business such as marketing, operations and supply chain management, information system, etc. I was able to build a chatbot! I would have never expected to build a chatbot... This program gave me the confidence to pursue my dream in recruiting. I went to the career center and rewrote my resumes over 100 times and practiced interviews with Justin, our career advisor. I found my dream job after graduating from this program!
The Bridge (Early Career) MBA program remains one of the highlights of my education. In addition to learning the intricacies of financial accounting, the program encouraged me to consciously reflect on my identity in the business world; my misconceptions about my own capabilities were challenged. I'm especially thankful to the professors and Career Center in particular, who helped me realize that my Liberal Arts background is an equal asset to business as market development. I'd highly recommend the Bridge (Early Career) MBA program, as it is as much of a well-rounded development of the self as it is a near-comprehensive introduction to the business world.
The Early Career MBA program opened a lot of doors for me just by providing exposure to fields and career paths that I otherwise would never have considered. One unit in an information systems class introduced me to the process of building chatbots and ultimately led me to designing them for a living. I love what I do, but as someone with a non-technical background, this career path was unexpected, and one that I would not have found without the Early Career MBA program.
