On May 23rd, the Albers Career Center (formerly the Albers Placement Center) celebrated the mentors who participated in the Albers Mentor Programs during the 2022-23 school year.
The event recognized 21 mentors for participation milestones of five, 10, and 25 years. Mark Pinkowski, Sr. Vice President at Wells Fargo Commercial Bank, was the 25-year awardee. During Pinkowski’s tenure, he has mentored over 60 students, making a lasting impression on their career development.
Now in its 33rd year, the acclaimed Mentor Program is a unique opportunity for graduate-level and senior undergraduate business students to interact with upper-level executives from leading Puget Sound companies in a wide variety of industries. It offers opportunities to develop business contacts, access industry information, and gain valuable insights from experienced and successful professionals.
It comprises three main programs: the Accounting Mentor Program, the MBA in Sport and Entertainment Management Mentor Program, and the Albers Mentor Program. These programs have approximately 150 professionals participate each year as mentors with around 350 student mentees. 
Small groups of one to three students meet monthly with a mentor throughout the academic year. Mentors serve as advisors and sources of industry information, discuss business projects, and help establish contacts in the business community. Often, students discuss their career goals with mentors who offer advice and assistance.
