Director of Transition Services

Essential Job Functions
Strategic Planning
- As a member of the leadership team, advise on the development and implementation of the Center’s strategic plan, long-term goals and objectives.
- Serve as a primary liaison between CCTS and stakeholder agencies (DVR, OSPI, ESDs, School Districts).
- Participate in statewide meetings and on statewide committees.
- Research best practices and current, relevant articles that align with the CCTS mission and vision for distribution and training among stakeholders.>
- Assist in coordination of statewide and regional conferences.
- Contribute to federal and state reports.
Professional Training
- Design high quality, research-based professional training for the field in secondary special education and transition services.
- Provide training to consultants or others who facilitate training on behalf of CCTS (in person/virtual).
- Support collaborations and coordination with the ESDs in secondary special education and transition services.
- Provide training and support to CCTS staff in secondary special education and transition services.
Technical Assistance
- Assist CCTS staff in analyzing and evaluating project data (reflection guides, Indicator B-14, etc.)
- Respond to questions and requests from the field (school districts, ESDs, stakeholder groups, etc.) regarding secondary special education and transition services, compliance issues, and implementing evidence-based practices.
Marginal Job Functions
- Continue to learn about various CCTS functions and impacts.
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor (Director).
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
- Master’s degree in special education and a valid teacher’s license, administrative certificate, or equivalent.
- 5 or more years of experience in schools and special education.
- 3 or more years of experience with professional development in secondary special education and transition services.
- Thorough knowledge of Special Education law.
- Ability to travel (interstate and intrastate) for meetings and conferences as needed.
- Communicate effectively and meaningfully with groups and individuals in diverse settings using a range of techniques including face-to-face, telephone, video conferencing, email, written correspondence, public speaking, online trainings, and meeting facilitation.
- An ability to maintain strict confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in professional development and adult training and education
- Technology proficient and experienced with using web-based conferencing, and other telecommunication on-line meeting and education platforms.
