Elise DeGooyer, serves as Executive Director of Faith Action Network, a statewide, multifaith, advocacy and social justice organization. Elise’s experience in mission-driven work in human services and advocacy—in food banks, for unhoused people, and through advocacy on poverty issues—animates her theological questions. She is a lifelong resident of Washington State, born and raised in Yakima, completing undergraduate education in Spokane at Gonzaga University, and making Seattle home since the 1980s. Her graduate studies at Maryknoll School of Theology focused on liberation theologies and at Seattle University on pastoral leadership. Participation in forums like the Beijing Women’s Conference, Mary’s Pence, and the Parliament of World Religions continue to shape her global vision. She has seen with her own eyes how faith-based action can transform the world!
