Rev. Dr. Troy Lynn Carr is an elder in the Pacific Northwest Conference United Methodist Church (PNWC UMC). She serves as the Chair of the Ethnic Ministry Commission for the PNWC UMC, and for the past year, she worked with the General Commission on Religion and Race for the Global UMC in DC. Dr. Carr also worked as an Anti-Racism research consultant with the PNWC Innovation Team. On July 1, 2023, Dr. Carr will make history as the first woman and person of color appointed to pastor Gresham First United Methodist Church in Gresham, Oregon. Dr. Carr earned her B.S. in Social Work from Roberts Wesleyan College (University), Rochester, NY, M. Div. from Gettysburg Theological Seminary (United), Gettysburg, PA, and she is a double alumna of Seattle University, receiving her D. Min in 2020 and Masters of Nonprofit Leadership in 2022.
