Deborah Squires, MDiv., M.S.

After graduating from STM in 2020, Deb was called to serve as Associate Pastor at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Everett, WA, and as Mission Developer pastor of Family & Friends Gathering, a synodically authorized worshiping community serving young children and their grown-ups. This is a great deal of fun, and lends itself well to her Trinitarian focus: 3-minute sermons, songs with 3 chords, and 3-year-old congregants. Pastor Deb is still learning to answer to that name, as she previously spent 30 years in journalism, higher education, and nonprofit communications and fundraising. STM’s ecumenical and diverse student body helped broaden and deepen her faith and spirituality–all that digging out of theological holes together! Deb serves as liaison to the bishop for the clergy in her area, and on the board of directors of Bethany NW, A Lutheran nonprofit that provides home healthcare, residential services, skilled nursing and other services for seniors.
