Greetings!
My name is Zachary Dar, a Student Affiliate with the Center for Ecumenical and Interreligious Engagement – CEIE – here at Seattle University.
My student experience of leadership within the Center, has revolved around several different projects, such as the webinars hosted in the Fall of this past academic year, the current Winter Workshop Series on Spiritual Direction with nearly 200 registrants, and the creation of an interactive list of major international, spiritual, and religious events, which you can locate in the “International to National” section of our March newsletter.
In our March Newsletter, you can witness an example of how Student Affiliates enact their leadership in CEIE: There is a “behind the scenes” photo of Advisory Council Member Rev. Justin Almeida, my fellow Student Affiliate Sofia Sayabalian, and me, as we film the forthcoming course on Religious Literacy.
Within the month of March, CEIE is offering a variety of educational opportunities for personal and communal growth. For instance, we continue to host our Winter Workshop Series on the Art of Spiritual Direction this month, with a focus upon practice scheduled for March 9th and a session on applications scheduled for the following week, March 16th.
You can also listen to our latest podcast featuring Professor Steen Halling and our Director, Professor Michael Trice, in which Dr. Halling reflects upon his 40-year study on the nature of forgiveness as a public virtue.
Our Spring Workshop Series on Leading by Centering the Margins is moderated by Rev. Dr. Edward Donalson III. The first session on “White Christian Nationalism and Rage” begins on April 27th and our second session on “Trans-Formation” begins on May 25th.
