Food Tank, in collaboration with Seattle University's Center for Environmental Justice and Sustainability, hosted the inaugural Seattle Food Tank Summit on Saturday, March 17, 2018. More than 350 attendees and over three dozen different speakers including policy-makers, business people, researchers, farmers, chefs, government officials, and students gathered for a day of conversations on the topic of “Growing Food Policy.”

Nearly 500 attendees joined us in-person for the event, a completely sold-out crowd! On FoodTank.com and Food Tank’s Facebook page, an additional 78,000 viewers joined us from all over the world (from 110 countries!) for the free livestream. Additionally, Food Recovery Network held Summit watch parties across the United States.
- The Food Tank Summit in Seattle was a carbon neutral event made possible through Forterra’s Evergreen Carbon Capture Program. All Food Tank Summits are Food Recovery Verified. Surplus food from the Summits is donated, not landfilled.
