Governor Announces Change to Metrics for Healthy Washington Plan
Governor Jay Inslee last week announced that beginning today the Puget Sound region, of which we are a part, is eligible to enter Phase 2 of the state’s Healthy Washington — Roadmap to Recovery plan. You can read more about the change in metrics required to move from Phase 1 to 2. Additional information, including details on Phase 2, can be found at Healthy Washington.
While the move to Phase 2 is a sign of progress, the recent emergence of new, more highly infectious COVID-19 strains—one of which has already been detected in Washington state and King County—reminds us of how important it is to continue to keep the virus from spiking. Please:
- Wear a mask
- Stay at least six feet apart from others and avoid crowds
- Wash hands often and thoroughly
- Sanitize common areas, especially high-touch surfaces, regularly
- Monitor your health and follow CDC guidance if symptoms develop
Let’s all do our part to keep one another safe and healthy and lighten as much as we can the load on our already overburdened healthcare professionals and frontline workers.
Students: Please Complete the Winter Quarter Population Survey
Students: if you have not done so already, please complete this brief survey to indicate how frequently you will be physically on campus in Winter Quarter. The survey takes less than five minutes to complete. Responses, which will be confidential, will help the university plan for the quarter and support the needs of our campus community. If you have any questions, please contact COVIDHelp@seattleu.edu.
Vaccinations
As many of us patiently wait to be vaccinated for COVID-19, the Washington Department of Health’s Phase Finder tool allows you to check your eligibility and sign up to be notified when your turn comes. Those who are eligible can find vaccination locations here. A reminder that persons 65 years and older are currently eligible to receive a COVID-19 vaccine according to Washington Department of Health guidance.
