Dear Seattle University Students,

As the Provost and Vice President for Student Development at Seattle University, we wanted to reach out to you during this difficult period as we all endeavor to respond to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. We recognize that this situation is disruptive to your education, and that many of you are facing additional life challenges. We want you to know that our entire community of faculty and staff is committed to your health, safety and well-being and that we support your academic success and continued progress toward graduation.

While classes will no longer be meeting in-person for the rest of Winter Quarter and through Spring Quarter (and remainder of Spring Semester for the School of Law), faculty will be utilizing technology to provide high-quality academic learning through virtual instruction and academic resources, and support staff will remain available and responsive to your questions and concerns. We want to make sure you are aware of important resources that are available to you:

• The Lemieux Library and McGoldrick Learning Commons is greatly expanding its services for remote learners during this time, including providing laptop computers that are available for check out through Spring Quarter. For more information, visit the Library’s webpage or call 206-296-6446 during business hours. Systems, technology and media questions can also be emailed to library@seattleu.edu.
• We have created a new email address (StudentCovidQs@seattleu.edu) for you to contact if you have specific questions relating to your academic program, progress towards graduation, or student support services. Your message will be sent to the Office of the Provost and you will receive a response within one business day.

We recognize COVID-19 has disrupted many aspects of your life. We have heard from concerned students who worry about the health of their families, progressing through their academic program and graduating on time, uncertain housing situations, and maintaining their financial aid packages. During this time of uncertainty and anxiety, we are committed to continuing to support you while also prioritizing the health and safety of our community.

Good luck with your upcoming finals. Your faculty have been advised of ways to be flexible with students regarding the end of this term, but you are still expected to complete all your remaining assignments and exams. If you have questions about your course requirements, please contact your faculty.
