The SU CARE Team is here to help all Redhawks find resources and support for a range of issues and challenges. Faculty, staff, students, and families can request assistance or direct outreach for a student by making an non-urgent Student Concern. Whether the concern is about health & wellness, accessing basic needs, or ensuring safety, we are here to help.

The Coordinated Assistance & Resource Education Team (CARE Team) receives and responds to referrals from the campus community about students of concern. CARE Team services and resources include:
CARE Team referrals encompass a broad range of concerns, many of which are often independent of any behavioral concern about a student and/or indicate a lower-level concern that does not typically warrant an urgent intervention. Examples of non-behavioral referrals include

To refer a student for CARE Team outreach, please use the Student Alert form. Alerts will be triaged by the Office of the Dean of Students and the Office of Student Persistence to ensure the student receives the appropriate support. These alerts can be submitted by a student, parent/guardian, faculty, staff, administrator, or anyone looking to assist a student or request extra support.
All CARE Team outreach will be conducted with privacy and sensitivity. At times, information may need to be shared with campus partners outside the Office of the Dean of Students; however, such information sharing will be done with extreme discretion.
We are here to help students overcome barriers to their success and promote a healthy and safe campus community. Upon receipt of your referral, the Office of the Dean of Students may coordinate outreach to the student to offer support and determine appropriate resources. This support may come in the form of

Whoopi GoldbergThis letter from the Dean of Students was sent via email to all residential students in university owned/managed housing to provide updated move out guidance following the extension of Governor Jay Inslee’s March 23 “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” Executive Order 20-25. The “stay-at-home” provision, which directs all Washington State residents to stay in their homes with the exception of essential travel, is now in effect through Monday, May 4. Because of the stay-at-home restrictions now in place, the university has extended the Winter Quarter move out deadline to Saturday, May 9 at 5:00pm.

In an effort to promote social distancing and help stop the spread of COVID-19 we decided to close all residence halls for Spring Quarter 2020. This message provides updated guidance following Governor Jay Inslee’s March 23 “Stay Home – Stay Healthy” Executive Order 20-25, and what it means for (1) residential students who remain physically on campus at this time, and for (2) those residential students who have already departed campus and need to return to move out of the residence hall at a later date.
