Students can schedule their accommodated testing in myDS if they have been approved for Alternative Testing AND they have notified their professor of this accommodation via the Faculty Notification Letter. Students must send their letter at the beginning of the quarter. Only after students have sent their letter can students schedule testing.
For any timed test where students want to apply their accommodations, they need to submit a test request through their myDS portal. A timed test (quiz, exam or final) is an assessment that students are expected to complete in one session/sitting.
Students must schedule their quizzes, exams in myDS at least (3) business/week days before they plan to test. Finals scheduling must be completed at least (10) business/week days in advance of the first day of Finals.
What are synchronous timed tests? Synchronous timed tests are tests that occur during class time. They may be administered in person or remotely depending on the class format.
Students with testing accommodations are expected to start timed tests at the same time as students without. Exceptions only apply when extended testing time overlaps with class time for another synchronous class. They should reach out to their professor in a timely manner to discuss the conflict and notify Testing Services.
In-Person Synchronous Tests:-
Remote Synchronous Tests:-
What are asynchronous timed tests? Asynchronous timed tests are assessments where students are given a time frame outside of the regular class meeting to complete the test. Asynchronous testing is remote testing.
