Below is a sample of available College of Education endowed scholarships. ScholarshipUniverse will autopopulate scholarships you qualify for. A significant number of endowed scholarships require you complete the FAFSA/WAFSA

  • Burke Family Catholic Education Endowed Scholarship

    • $2,000 - $2,400
    • One year - option to renew
    • For students committed to working in Catholic schools for at least three years after completion of program
  • Dean Sue Schmidt Scholarship

    • $2,200 - $2,400
    • One-time award
    • Awarded to a student(s) who is a member of an underrepresented group that shows professional promise and leadership in their chosen field of study
  • Father William Codd Scholarship

    • $350 - $400
    • One-time award
    • Must be in last year of study
  • Feeney Family Endowed Scholarship

    • $3,300 - $3,000
    • One-time award
  • Hallquist Memorial Endowed Scholarship

    • $4,500
    • One or two recipients
    • One time award with option to renew
    • Must be enrolled in the College of Education
    • Must demonstrate financial need or academic excellence, or both
  • McCleary Scholarship in Education

    • $2,200 - $3,000
    • Awarded to two continuing students of a College of Education graduate degree program
  • SU Institutional Aid

    • Amount varies
    • Awarded once per academic year
    • Renewal for length of program
    • Available to international and students not eligible to file a FAFSA

Counseling Scholarships

  • Counseling Program Endowed Scholarship

    • $700 - $ 2,000
    • One-time award
    • Must be enrolled in the Counseling Program
  • Halimo Ahmed Maie Scholarship

    • Amount varies
    • Up to seven scholarship available
    • Awarded to a full-time graduate student (six+ credits per quarter) enrolled in the Counseling program
    • Demonstration of commitment to social justice, leadership, and participation in professional organizations
  • Puget Sound Partnership (PSP) Grant Funding

    • Must be enrolled in the School Counseling (in-person) program or the School Psychology program
    • Amount varies.

  • Washington State Behavioral Health Workforce Development Initiative (WDI)

    • Must be enrolled in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling (in-person) program.
    • Must demonstrate financial need and apply for the FAFSA.
      • If an applicant is not eligible for the FAFSA they should apply for the WFAFSA
    • Preference given to student of color
    • Demonstrated work experience in diverse communities
    • Conduct practicum and internship at a WDI approved behavioral mental health agency
    • Commitment to working for 3-years in a behavioral mental health agency post-graduation

    • Awarded to a graduate student in the Educational Administration program who demonstrates meritorious accomplishment in the field

  • Dorothy Krueger Endowed Scholarship

    • $750 - $3,500
    • One-time award
    • Awarded to a continuing student
  • John Morford Leadership Endowment Fund

    • $750 - $3,500
    • One-time award
    • Awarded to first year students
  • Joseph and Margaret "Peg" Haggerty Endowed Scholarship in Education

    • Up to one-half (50%) of the annual cost of tuition
    • Can be awarded to multiple students who qualify
    • One time award with option to renew
    • Must be enrolled in the College of Education
    • Must demonstrate financial need and academic excellence
  • Roy Wahle Endowed Scholarship

    • $500 - $3,000
    • One-time award
    • Awarded to third year students
    • Must exemplify the qualities of effective leadership for an interdependent world

    • $1,250 - $2,500
    • One-time award
    • Must be enrolled as a graduate student in the Doctorate in Educational and Organizational Learning and Leadership Program with a preference for students who pursue roles in adult education and training

Tuition Grant

  • Catholic School Special Tuition Grant

    • Requires separate application
    • 50% of regular tuition
    • Number of grants provided varies
    • For duration of program
    • Must be a full-time teacher or principal in Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Seattle
    • Must be fully admitted to a College of Education master’s program
    • Cannot combine with other institutional scholarships 
    • Not available for Master in Teaching (MIT) and Doctor of Education (EdD) students or students eligible for Matteo Ricci College tuition remission
