Seattle University's Educational Administration program offers two certifications:
There are a variety of ways to obtain either certification. The pathway you choose depends on your educational goals and whether you are starting your program with a bachelor's degree or a master's degree. All certification programs are designed for the working professional.
Seattle University’s Principal Certificate prepares K-12 certified professionals to lead elementary or secondary schools. This program attracts aspiring administrators who are passionate about making a difference — and who see themselves as leaders of other professionals in pursuit of excellence for students, staff and schools.
The Post-Master’s Principal Certificate is a 37 credit program designed for working professionals and requires a master’s degree. The program offers weekend, summer, and hybrid class meetings and takes only four to five quarters to complete. The cohort begins each spring and summer. The Certification in Program Administration, which develops leadership skills for aspiring administrators in K-12 schools, district offices or educational nonprofits may be obtained in a variety of ways, all of which meet current National Educational Leadership Preparation (NELP) standards.
