The College of Education's endorsement academies are designed with teacher's schedules in mind. Our programs are developed for educators currently in the classroom wanting to earn additional endorsements while working. Our endorsement programs focus on high need and in demand areas, while offering a social-justice and culturally responsive context that is inherent to Seattle University (SU). All programs are developed and overseen by SU’s faculty and experienced teacher leaders.
Current online academies include:
District academies developed by the Professional & Continuing Education office are targeted to teachers in specific school districts.
ELL Endorsement Academy at Auburn School District
The College of Education in partnership with Auburn School District offers an ELL endorsement academy for district teachers.
For questions, please contact E-academy@seattleu.edu or call 206-296-2147.
Endorsement academies are tailored to an individual district's needs in any of the endorsement areas offered. The College of Education's office of Professional & Continuing Education works with school district teachers and staff to design academies that meet areas of high need within that district.
This allows school districts to help their teachers receive endorsements in high-demand areas while providing an affordable and convenient option for their teachers (training is provided within district boundaries).
Lead teachers who are expert instructors from partner school districts provide academy instruction using curriculum developed by Seattle University faculty. A College of Education faculty member oversees the teaching of all academy courses.
If your school district is interested in developing an endorsement academy in partnership with the College of Education, please contact Julie Kang by phone at (206) 296-5777 or by email at kangju@seattleu.edu to set up an appointment.
