Grants and scholarships, often referred to as gift aid, help reduce the loans students need to borrow, the hours they need to work and/or the extent they and their families need to use their savings to cover the costs of their education. While Seattle University awards as much gift aid as possible, from federal, state, institutional and private sources, students are also encouraged to seek out as much outside gift aid as possible, as early as possible.
