Gifts to the Annual Scholarship Fund provide the university with the resources needed to maintain our promise of making a college education a reality for many deserving students. The ability to offer generous financial aid packages helps Seattle University attract the kind of students we are known for—students who are capable and committed to making a difference in their professions and communities.
More than 80% of current SU students receive financial aid to help fund their education.
Seattle University also offers a unique opportunity to individuals who would like to establish a named annual scholarship. Donors who make a commitment of $10,000-$24,999, payable up to five years, may establish a “named”, unrestricted (donor cannot select award criteria) annual scholarship. Gifts of $25,000 or more (payable up to five years) give donors the opportunity to also request specific criteria for their named scholarship. Contributions under $10,000 are placed into the Annual Scholarship Fund and used to provide scholarship support. Endowments are a powerful financial tool for creating a legacy that promotes the mission, vision and values of Seattle University. This tool helps the university maintain a competitive edge in attracting and retaining students and faculty and enables our schools, colleges and programs to grow and innovate in perpetuity.
Whatever your interest, there is an area at Seattle University that will benefit from an endowment.
If you choose to establish a named endowed fund to benefit SU, it may be designated for scholarships, program or activity support, or faculty professorship and chair positions. University Advancement staff will work with you to establish fund guidelines and to discuss the most beneficial and tax-wise giving strategies. Endowed funds can be established and named with the amounts below.
Gifts of $50K or more may establish an endowment.
* Minimum may be higher depending on college and school salary and funding levels.
