The purpose of the ConC is to facilitate faculty membership for AcA committees, standing University committees and ad hoc University committees. This separate budget committee was created for faculty members only and has a critical and strategic role during this budget cycle. The BAC-F communicates with the Budget Advisory Group (BAG) on a regular basis to help SU achieve its financial repositioning goal by bringing proposals forward for resource allocation, defining strategic investment priorities, and defining when we will achieve operating margin break-even.

The Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) Advisory Council serves an advisory function for the Office of Sponsored Projects (OSP) by making recommendations on strategic planning, policies, procedures and new OSP initiatives in support of faculty research and sponsored project endeavors. The council provides guidance on how best OSP can engage faculty in seeking external funding; identifies priorities and strategies for faculty research development and interdisciplinary collaborations; provides a feedback mechanism for SU faculty to the OSP; and cultivates the campus research culture through communication and engagement with the OSP. The University Rank and Tenure Committee (URTC) is a standing committee of the Academic Assembly of Seattle University. The purpose of the URTC is to make recommendations regarding faculty applications for tenure and promotion in rank to the Provost and University President. The Seattle University Athletics Advisory Board (AAB) assists and advises the Athletics Director (AD) in the exercise of insitutional responsibility and control of intercollegiate athletics. The guiding concern of the AAB is the overall welfare of students who particpate in intercollegiate athletics. The AAB both advises the Director on policy issues brough to the AAB's attention by the AD and also initiates discussion on issues of concern regarding student-athletes to the faculty adn/or administration.

The Brand, Reputation and External Affairs Committee is a standing committee established by resoluation of the Board and shall assist the Board in carrying out its fiduciary and strategic responsibilities relating to the University's brand, reputation, marketing, alumni affairs and external relations.

The primary function of the Facilities & Technology Infrastructure Committee is to ensure a strategic and financially prudent approach to long term campus planning as it addresses facilities and technology infrastructure, including technology strategy, major capital projects, opportunities for acquisitions, deferred maintenance issues, and space utilization.

The Finance Committee is responsible for safeguarding and monitoring the University's financial stability and long-term economic health, including but not limited to consideration of matters relating to business operations, administration, budgeting, financing, and financial reserves. The SRI Working Group is part of the Board of Trustee’s Investment Committee and was set up for a term of one year. It consists of 11 members representing the Board of Trustees, alumni, students, faculty and staff. The SRI Working Group will consider issues of social responsibility in the investment policies and practices of Seattle University. It is charged with making recommendations to the Investment Committee on socially responsible investment issues related to the investments in the university’s endowment.

The SU Institutional Review Board (IRB) and its staff serve as the compliance authority and liaison among the federal government, the SU administration, and SU affiliates with research projects involving human subjects. The IRB members and IRB staff review all proposed human subjects research studies from SU faculty, staff, and students, considering ethical considerations, risks for participants, scientific merit, and adherence to state and Federal regulations and SU policies. IRB members also educate campus colleagues on human subjects research policies and practices, engage in professional development regarding evolving regulations and guidelines, and participate in efforts to ensure ethical human subjects research standards across campus.
