Seattle University offers a limited number of grants and scholarships for graduate students. Most are determined by the academic departments. All grants and scholarships are financial resources and must be coordinated with other types of financial aid.

Interested applicants should consult the website for their school or college and contact individual departments for information on departmental grants and scholarships.
AmeriCorps/Peace Corps Alumni Scholarship
Eligible admitted students to a Seattle University graduate degree program are encouraged to apply for the AmeriCorps/Peace Corps Alumni Scholarship. Recipients of the scholarship receive a total award of $3,000 toward tuition distributed over the first two years of the student's academic program. Eligible applicants must have successfully completed (or will have completed) an AmeriCorps or Peace Corps term of service by the time of enrollment in their graduate program and be admitted to a degree program other than law. Seven new scholarships are awarded annually. The application priority deadline is April 30.
The Sinegal Fellowship
The Sinegal Fellowship provides support for underrepresented minority Costco Scholars who have graduated from either the University of Washington or Seattle University and who are pursuing an advanced degree at SU. The Sinegal Fellowship is a 2-year award with a stipend of $5,000 for each year. For the 2023-24 academic year, the application period is May 1- May 31, 2023. Applications will be reviewed in June and selected students notified by June 30.
Federal Teach Grant
- Students participating in Master's degree programs in special education or teaching may qualify for a Federal TEACH Grant.
- In return for receiving a TEACH Grant, a student agrees to serve:
- As a highly-qualified full-time teacher in a high-need field in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves low-income students and
- For at least four academic years within eight calendar years of completing the program of study for which they received TEACH Grant funding.
- Failure to complete your service obligation can result in penalties.

Catholic School Special Tuition Grant
- Provides up to a 50 percent tuition reduction for full-time teachers and principals in Catholic schools of the Archdiocese of Seattle who are enrolled and fully admitted to a master's program in the College of Education. Can not be combined with other institutional scholarships.
- A separate application from the Seattle University's Student Financial Services Office is required.
- The grant is not available for doctoral, pre-service teacher preparation (MIT) classes or to students eligible for Matteo Ricci College tuition remission.

- The internet offers numerous scholarship search opportunities and resources. Do an internet search for "graduate student free scholarship search" to view a large number of options and possibilities.
- Libraries are excellent resource centers; however, frequently scholarship listing publications cannot be checked out so allow time to browse.
- Check with your employer for scholarship and tuition reimbursement opportunities.
