Welcome home! We are working hard to get the residence halls ready for your arrival on campus. Please take some time to read this newsletter to help you prepare for your transition to living on campus.
Move-in for our new residents occurs on Saturday, September 21 and Sunday, September 22 for our continuing students. Move-in appointments will open on the Housing Portal starting August 5. We utilize move-in appointments to manage the flow and safety of our residents moving into the residence halls and to reduce congestion in places like elevators, hallways, and parking lots.
Orientation will also offer Early Bird Immersions on September 17 - 19 for students who want to start their life on campus a few days early.

Check out more details about immunizations here and submit your information via our Online Student Health Immunization Form. All new students are required to submit their immunization records prior to your move in date.

Can students bring a car? A bike? What are the public transportation options? Yes, on-campus residents can bring a car on campus but will need to purchase a parking pass through Transportation and Parking Services. First year students will need to fill out a 1st Year Resident Parking Waiver Application found on the Transportation and Parking Services site. Students are allowed to bring bikes and we provide both outdoor and covered bike racks.
There are numerous Metro bus stops on the campus perimeter and Transportation and Parking Services provides discounted bus passes.
What happens if roommates don’t get along? We encourage roommates to communicate over the summer about sleep habits, study habits, favorite music, etc. During the first few weeks of the fall quarter, roommates will craft a roommate agreement outlining their agreed upon expectations for their living situation. Learning to live with someone is an important life skill, and we provide both student and professional staff support to residents as they navigate this opportunity. Resident Assistants (RAs) are there to help mediate conflicts and students should contact their RA first with any issues that arise. If necessary to come to a solution or to determine if a room change is needed, the RA staff will refer students to HRL professional staff.
