The Guadalupe Faith/Hospitality Experience in Mexico
Faculty/Staff Seminar with Immersion Experience
Dec. 6-15
2019

Applications are now being accepted. All SU faculty and staff are invited to apply. The deadline is Wednesday, Oct. 10. Limited spaces available! Please contact Dr. Jeanette Rodriguez at jrodrigu@seattleu.edu to request an application.

The growing problems of immigration, displacement and poverty in our country and throughout the world accentuate the relevance and importance of the Faith/Hospitality experience offered by the Mexican Benedictine Sisters at the Guadalupe Center in Cuernavaca. This immersion experience/seminar addresses the dire need to build bridges of understanding between the rich and the poor, the north and the south, and differing cultures and religions. A faculty and staff delegation from Seattle University has traveled to Mexico since 2006 to engage with these perspectives. Their cumulative experiences were rich, diverse and resulted in a number of unexpected directions in creative work and professional development.

The program cost, $850 per participant, is covered by a grant from the Endowed Mission Fund. Participants are responsible for airfare, which is estimated at $500.
