The Ignatian Year begins Thursday, May 20
Within the Catholic tradition there are various charisms lived out and incarnated through various religious communities. This year we join the Jesuits in celebrating the Ignatian Year. From May 2021 until July 2022, the Society of Jesus celebrates an Ignatian Year. May 20, 2021 marks the 500th anniversary of St. Ignatius’ conversion — that fateful day when Ignatius the soldier, struck by a cannonball, began his transformation into Ignatius the pilgrim.
As the ICTC continues our theme of "Globalization, Spirituality and Justice" for programming next year, we will be inspired by and incorporate the theme of the Ignatian Year which asks: how does God call us to act in new, bold ways that reconcile our world, bringing about justice, peace and compassion? Watch for program updates over the summer and we look forward to you joining us in the fall!
