Dear colleagues and friends,
The above words from Pope Francis seem especially resonant now as we look forward to beginning a new academic year. It is something that we prepare for every year, yet now a noticeable transformation has taken place. We all have been on a collective journey these past eighteen months; and at the same time our individual circumstances have shaped and prepared us for new experiences. As in every journey and every new experience, we revisit and retrieve those values and aspirations we find worth living for.
This year the ICTC will continue our theme of "Globalization, Spirituality and Justice," focusing on the topics of Vatican II, synodality, and women's roles in the Church. We have very inspiring and distinguished speakers to announce (see the event preview below) and hope to have some in-person events beginning in winter quarter, while continuing to connect with our remote community.
Also, the institute is expanding, with the formation of the first ICTC Advisory Board and a position announcement for a Senior Administrative Assistant - more information on both in the ICTC Announcements below!
We are always here to engage and converse about the topics we present or topics you are interested in - please feel free to visit (in person or on Zoom!).
We look forward to connecting with you in the fall,
Dr. Jeanette Rodriguez, ICTC Director, and Jessica Palmer, ICTC Assistant Director
