Hi, my name is Dale Watanabe and I am the Director at the ISC. I work closely with our Assistant Directors, Sandra Bui, Chloe Thomas, and Tashi Rabgey, so we can keep up to date on all of our fantastic international students. A little about me: I taught English as a Second Language for seven years (3 years in Hyogo-ken, Japan and 4 years at Edmonds Community College) and have worked at Seattle University since winter quarter of 2001. I grew up on Seattle's Beacon Hill (famous for the pink building) and live in the house I grew up in. As some of you may know, my office is always open so please drop by and say hello!

I’m Chloe and I am one of the Assistant Directors! I am originally from Spokane, Washington and I moved to Seattle when I started undergrad at SU as an International Studies and Spanish major. I loved being a Redhawk so much that after 6 years in the luxury travel industry, I decided to come back and get my Master’s in Student Development Administration! When I am not studying or working, I love exploring coffee shops in Seattle, playing with my cat or my corgi or spending time with my husband and friends. I also love to travel and have been to more than 27 countries and 26 states. Come say hi!

My name is Tashi Rabgey, a Tibetan-American and a resident of Seattle since the early 90's.  I am a graduate of Washington State University and certified to teach English as a Foreign Language through Seattle University.  I have nearly 20-years of teaching experience and spent a considerable amount of time abroad in Japan where I previously owned and operated an English School.  This past academic school year, I taught 9th grade students at the Why Not You Academy, a new charter high school started by Russel and Ciara Wilson.  In addition, I am a veteran of the United States Armed Forces and I have been to over 20 countries.  This opportunity to work with so many talented international students at an amazing university such as Seattle University is a blessing, because working in education has always been my passion.  I look forward to joining Dale Watanabe's team in the International Student Center and building relationships I hope will last a lifetime!  Please stop by the International Student Center and say hello!  I look forward to meeting everyone!  Thank you.

Hi.  I’m Sandra Bui.  I’m back at SU after 8 years staying at home with my 3 kids (now 16, 14, and 12 years old).  I’m a first-generation immigrant from Vietnam and have lived in the Greater Seattle area for 40 years.  Seattle is home to me.  I enjoy knitting, crocheting, and sewing.  In my spare time, I enjoy reading manga and watching anime with my teen daughter.  In my opinion, fish sauce goes on everything.  Let’s share some laughter with each other over tea or coffee!
