Jerry Vergeront

Jerry Vergeront came to Seattle University with a blend of legal and cybersecurity expertise.  Prior to joining Seattle University, Jerry cultivated his skills through a successful private law practice, specializing in cybersecurity law. His career trajectory includes pivotal roles in IT security at prominent organizations such as Starbucks, Anitian Enterprise Security, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, and Premera Blue Cross. Jerry's commitment to security and compliance practices is underscored by his pro-bono legal work, dedicated to serving his community. He holds esteemed certifications including CISSP (Certified Information Systems Security Professional) and CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor).

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Jerry served for five years, with a notable role as a Cryptologic Linguist. Beyond his professional pursuits, he enjoys spending quality time with his family, embarking on day trips on his motorcycle, indulging in stream fishing, and immersing himself in literature. As a creative outlet, Jerry finds joy in writing.
