At the MOSAIC Center, we are invested in the growth and thriving of all students at Seattle University with a particular focus on supporting students from historically underrepresented and minoritized backgrounds. We provide programs, services, and resources for students of color, LGBTQIA+ students, undocumented students, first-generation college students, veterans and military-connected students, commuter students, transfer students, graduate students, and adult learners.
- BIPOC – Black, Indigenous, People of Color
- LGBTQIA+ – Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex, Asexual and “+” to signify the identities not captured in this acronym
- Adult Learners – 25 years and older; married, have families, or are single parents; working professionals (have not previously completed their degree); returning students (took a few years off of school)
- "Undocumented” – broadly defined to include all immigrants who reside in the United States without legal status, including DACA recipients, or DREAMers
- First-Generation College Students – first in their immediate family to receive a U.S. bachelor's degree.
- Veteran & Military-connected – all who have served or are currently serving our country. We also welcome the spouses and dependents of service members.
- Transfer Student – Anyone who has completed a college level course after graduating from high school
- Commuter Student – Any student who does not live on campus and uses various modes of transportation to travel to and from class.
- Graduate Student - Any student who is enrolled in a graduate program at Seattle University
