Professor Colaner's main research and teaching area is the ethics of artificial intelligence, including machine learning ethics and data ethics. In addition to his professorship, he is the Director of Business Analytics and Managing Director of Ethics & Technology at Seattle University. His current consulting in AI ethics is for the Vatican, the National Science Foundation, AI & Faith, AI for Equity, and the Grefenstette Center for Ethics in Science, Technology and Law. He makes regular media appearances.
