Arts / Faith and Humanities / Business and Ethics / People of SUNaef ScholarsWritten by Mike TheeMay 15, 2017No Image Credit ProvidedNo Caption ProvidedSeattle University announces the 2017-2018 student recipients.President Stephen Sundborg, S.J., announced the recipients of the 2017-2018 Naef Scholarship on May 15. “Along with our Sullivan Scholars and Bannan Scholars, the Naef Scholars are among the university’s very finest students,” wrote Father Sundborg. “To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be undergraduates in their junior and senior years who have maintained a GPA of 3.4 or above. They must also demonstrate leadership potential and a commitment to serving the university and the wider community.” Naef Scholars, who are chosen by a selection committee after an extensive process, must receive endorsements from faculty and staff and undergo interviews. The scholarship is made possible by an endowment gift from the estate of Sue M. Naef. Dave Madsen, associate professor of history, oversees the program.
