The Mary Agnes and Raymond Guernsey Endowed Scholarship Fund will be used to improve student diversity in Albers undergraduate programs and to assist enrolled undergraduates with significant financial need. The first scholarships from the fund will be awarded for the 2018-19 academic year. “Albers is very grateful to receive this gift from the Guernsey’s. These scholarship funds will give more students access to the transformative education provided by Seattle University and Albers,” says Dean Joe Phillips. Mary Agnes Guernsey, a lifelong Seattle resident, passed away in September 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray, who worked for PACCAR for most of his professional career.The Guernsey gift is among the largest in Albers’ history.
