A bronze Redhawk sculpture descended from the sky and assumed its perch on the upper mall on March 28. With a four-foot wingspan, the sculpture sits atop an eight-foot basalt column outside the Lemieux Library.
“Aspire,” as it is titled, is the handiwork of accomplished local artist Tony Angell. Commissioned as an ode to SU’s mascot, the sculpture promises to be something of a selfie magnet, inviting students, faculty and staff to interact with it.
