Christmas at Seattle U

All are welcome to celebrate the holiday season with the following SU traditions. 

Christmas Tree Lighting

Thursday, Dec. 5

Kick off the Christmas season, SU style. Come early and enjoy the festivities in the Student Center, including photos with Santa Claus, arts and crafts, live reindeer, and other fun activities. Then head outside with fellow merry-makers for the main event starring our own Seattle University chapel choir leading carols, Rudy the Redhawk, and more. The fun starts at 6 p.m. the Tree Lighting Ceremony is at 7 p.m. in the Library Plaza. Hope to see you there!

Nothing says Christmas quite like Seattle University’s highly acclaimed choirs and their soaring songs of the season. Immerse yourself in a spirit of celebration, reflection, and joy through readings, carols old and new, and an audience singalong. Enjoy modern arrangements including Sarah Quartel’s “Silent Night” and Arnesen’s “His Light In Us,” as well as beloved seasonal favorites like “Little Drummer Boy,” “Wexford Carol” and “Do You Hear What I Hear.” This will be the first performance of the University Singers, our newest ensemble for students, alumni, community members, staff and faculty. Advent Mass and Reception

Saturday, Dec. 7

Celebrate the season with Seattle U and the Alumni Association. Staff, faculty, family and friends are invited to attend a favorite holiday tradition. Mass is at 4 p.m. in the Chapel of St. Ignatius. Following mass there will be a candlelight procession from the chapel to the Student Center featuring holiday carols by the Chapel Choir. The reception includes appetizers, wine, beer and tons of family fun to celebrate the season. Register here.
