Crosscut Festival Returns to Seattle U this May

The second annual Crosscut Festival will be back at Seattle University May 3-4. The festival will feature local, regional and national newsmakers providing thought-provoking conversations and innovative thinking, tackling the most important issues of our times and taking a hard look at the people, policy and events that shape our lives.

This year’s festival will feature speaking tracks around five issues: race and social justice, politics, business, science and environment and keynote speakers. To date, organizers have secured a stellar lineup that includes former advisor to President Barack Obama Valerie Jarrett, Washington Attorney General Bob Ferguson, Washington Postreporter Philip Rucker,  former New Jersey Governor and Environmental Protection Agency administrator Christine Todd Whitman and civil rights activist and community organizer DeRay McKesson, plus many more. The full list of presenters and speakers will be released in March on the Crosscut Festival website.

In addition to the main programming, the festival will include food trucks on campus and interactive engagement opportunities, including a special activities campus hub for student attendees.
