Science / Technology and HealthDemolition Makes Way for Center for Science and InnovationNo Author ProvidedJuly 25, 2019No Image Credit ProvidedNo Caption ProvidedExcavation equipment methodically chewed their way through the University Services Building in the first step toward construction of a new home for Seattle U's STEM programs.Built in the late 1940s originally as a Canada Dry bottling plant and acquired by Seattle U in the mid-1960s for a bookstore and offices, the University Services building was demolished this month to make way for the new Center for Science and Innovation. Following the demolition, construction of Seattle U’s new Center for Science and Innovation will begin and continue through spring of 2021. During spring and summer of 2021, the focus will shift to renovations in the Bannan Science and Engineering buildings. During that same time period, the new building will be furnished, and lab equipment, faculty and staff will move in for the start of the 2021 Fall Quarter.
