Associate Professor Agnieszka Miguel, chair of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, has been elected an American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) Fellow. The grade of Fellow Member is conferred in recognition of outstanding contributions to engineering or engineering technology education. The ASEE bylaws limit the number of members who can be advanced to Fellow Grade in any one year to a total equal to one-tenth of one percent of the ASEE individual membership; Miguel is one of just nine honorees for 2020.
Miguel has held several positions with ASEE, including chair of the ASEE Professional Interest Council I, which includes membership on the Board of Directors, and the ASEE Pacific Northwest (PNW) section chair. She has also held leadership positions with the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department Heads Association (ECEDHA).
A 2017 profile in ASEE Today highlighted Miguel’s excellence as a teacher, her research, which has included identifying and counting snow leopards, and her efforts to support and champion women in engineering.
