Pulitzer Prize-winning syndicated columnist Leonard Pitts, Jr. spoke at the King County Bar Association’s annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Luncheon, which was hosted by the School of Law.
Speaking to students, staff and faculty at Sullivan Hall, Pitts expressed a sense of urgency at the need for the United States to, as Dr. King once said, live up to what it promises to be on paper.
"What's going to hold us together as a country?” he asked. “That's the question we're struggling with right now. And I'm frightened because I don't know what the answer will be."
