But which programs have sustained their success most consistently in recent years? The college soccer news website SoccerWire.com combined the poll and the index to come up with its Top 25 list. The Seattle U men’s soccer team was ranked #18 of the Top 25 NCAA teams of the past five years. Crosstown rivals the University of Washington Huskies came in at #13. “This is a terrific achievement for our team” says Coach Pete Fewing. “To be on this list with all these other historic programs is a huge honor. Our goal is to be a top-10 program and this is a great step in that direction. We expect to stay at this level and improve this ranking going forward.” Three other universities in the Top 25 are Jesuit institutions: Georgetown, Creighton and Boston College. The rankings are based on a team’s average position in the end-of-season rankings from 2015–2019 and use a combination of United Soccer Coaches Polls and RPI. The Top 25 programs are Stanford, Wake Forest, Indiana, Maryland, Notre Dame, Georgetown, Virginia, UNC, Syracuse, Clemson, Louisville, Charlotte, University of Washington, Akron, SMU, Creighton, Kentucky, Seattle U, Coastal Carolina, New Hampshire, UCLA, Virginia Tech, Denver, Boston College and Providence.
