Congratulations to Joanne Hughes Clark, PhD, associate professor of Physics, who— in partnership with colleagues at College of Idaho, St. Martin’s University and Western Washington University—was recently awarded funds from the M.J. Murdock Charitable Trust Research Across Institutions for Scientific Empowerment (RAISE) program. Funding will support the team in studying extra-tidal stars surrounding 20 globular clusters in the inner Milky Way. A total of eight SU undergraduate researchers will be supported over the 3-year award, several of whom will also have the opportunity to travel to the Apache Point Observatory in Sunspot, New Mexico. Congratulations to Dr. Hughes Clark and her colleagues.
