Emerging from a highly competitive field that included more than 4,500 entries from 630-plus institutions in nearly 30 countries, SU’s entries were among those recognized as exemplary. Led by Marketing Communications, SU’s award-winning projects are: the invitation suite for the 2021 inauguration of President Eduardo Peñalver, which received a Silver award; and a Seattle University Magazine profile of Haleema Bharoocha, ’18, a young alumna making a difference in her community, which received a Bronze award. The awards, the premier recognition program for educational advancement, are peer-selected and adjudicated, honoring institutions worldwide whose talented staff have advanced their organizations through their resourcefulness and ingenuity. Winners are selected based on several factors, including overall quality, innovation, use of resources and the impact on the institution or its external and internal communities, such as alumni, parents, students, and faculty and staff. Of SU’s inauguration invitation suite (lead designer: Marissa Leitch, graphic designer), the CASE judges said: “The attention to detail and personal touches in this piece were lovely. Very meaningful to both the president personally and the audience who would be receiving the piece.” Of the magazine profile of Bharoocha (writer: Allison Nitch, senior writer), the judges shared: “Particularly inspirational for young alumni, who are generally thought of as too nascent in their career development to make a significant change so soon after their graduation.” “Our CASE Circle of Excellence Awards celebrate the creative, resourceful and innovative ways advancement professionals around the globe champion their institutions’ success,” says CASE President and CEO Sue Cunningham. “Advancement has never been more important to support and strengthen education. These 2022 Circle of Excellence recipients—from institutions and teams of all sizes and shapes, from regions across the world—showcase how advancement empowers teaching and learning, ignites institutional progress and helps communities thrive.” SU Marketing Communications' designs and communications pieces have consistently been honored at the annual CASE awards.
