Sonora Jha, PhD, was the keynote speaker at the
University of Northern British Columbia
's conference in November titled "
Inspiring Women Among Us
(IWAU)."
In the months since the launch of her new book
How to Raise a Feminist Son: Motherhood, Masculinity, and the Making of My Family,
Jha has been surprised to receive heartfelt notes from men about their desire for an alternative, gentler masculinity. During the conference, she discussed how raising feminist men is an act of love and compassion toward them.
