The co-founders of Seattle’s Figurehead Brewing—with a location in Magnolia and a second opening this fall on Stone Way— will address students at Seattle University on October 6 to kick off the “Founder Friday” networking and speaker series, sponsored by the Albers School of Business and Economics’ Innovation and Entrepreneurship Center. Co-founded by alums Jesse Warner, ’09 MBA, and Bob Monroe, ’10 MBA, Figurehead Brewing is an example of a values-based business. During the event Monroe and Warner will talk about the craft brewing industry in the state and Figurehead’s model for expansion during a time when some competitors shuttered their doors. “We’re looking forward to spending time to help students figure out what their goals are with starting a business,” explains Monroe. “Our message will be don’t get distracted by what you could do. Instead stay focused on what you need to do to reach your goals.” Learn more about Founder Friday and get tickets for the event.
