Campus CommunityUnder the Sea: Winter Ball 2023Written by Sofia Marti, '23March 9, 2023No Image Credit ProvidedNo Caption ProvidedAnnual SEAC dance event takes over the Seattle Aquarium. As winter quarter nears its end, it is no shock that students around campus are buzzing with the excitement of Student Events and Activities Council’s (SEAC) annual legacy event, Winter Ball. Winter Ball has become one Seattle University’s classic traditions—and for many students, one of their favorite events of the entire academic year! This year’s Winter Ball will be at the Seattle Aquarium, March 10, 7-9:30 p.m. SEAC is providing transportation to and from the aquarium, including ADA accommodations, ready to take students to a night they won’t forget. Tickets are $20 and available now via EventBrite. As the Executive Director of SEAC this year, I can confidently say how proud I am of my team especially our University Programs Chair, Breanne Coulthard, ’23, who is in charge of all Winter Ball planning. As a graduating senior, I had the chance to talk to her to gain insight into what this event means to her as she, too, prepares to leave SU. “Winter Ball is an opportunity to celebrate being an undergraduate student with friends and peers before graduating,” says Coulthard. “For me, it means being present with the people I have grown to love for the last four years as a graduating senior. I hope to see you all at the aquarium for a night of underwater magic and excitement.” Aside from having access to the entire aquarium for half the normal price, there will be food and non-alcoholic drinks provided throughout the night. Students will be able to walk around the aquarium for the first half of the dance and have the opportunity to see a live otter feeding! After that, the aquarium will begin to close so students can dance the night away on the main dance floor, with some great music spun by a live DJ.
