High Marks

(UPDATED March 13, 2014, 5:20 p.m.) Seattle University's School of Law and Albers School of Business and Economics make impressive showings in the U.S. News & World Report 's Best Graduate Schools 2015 rankings, which came out this week.

For the sixth consecutive year, Seattle University School of Law has the top Legal Writing Program in the nation, according to U.S. News. The law school rose in the overall rankings, to 87, the Clinical Program is #18 and the Part-Time Program is ranked #25. SU's law school is 16th on the index of the country's most diverse law schools. The 2013-14 entering class is 39 percent students of color — the most diverse in the Northwest.

"I am so proud of my faculty and staff colleagues at Seattle University School of Law for their commitment and dedication in preparing our students to be great lawyers," Dean Annette Clark said. "These rankings are an imperfect and incomplete measure of the quality of the legal education we provide, but the recognition is gratifying."

The Albers School of Business and Economics is also highly ranked by U.S. News  with its Professional MBA program coming in at 68th in the nation and #2 in the Northwest among graduate business programs. The graduate accounting specialization ranks #14 in the nation, which is tops in the Northwest and among Jesuit institutions.

"Our faculty and staff do a terrific job of supporting students who will go on to have a positive and significant impact on their profession and community. We are especially proud of our Department of Accounting for being recognized as #14 in the nation. That is a tremendous achievement because there are so many strong accounting programs out there."
