Campus CommunityReflection on ElectionWritten by Mike TheeNovember 9, 2016No Image Credit ProvidedNo Caption ProvidedSU president issues a statement on the 2016 election.SU President Stephen Sundborg, S.J., issued the following statement following the U.S. presidential election: “This year’s presidential election was an extraordinarily contentious one. Now that it has come to an end, I want to take a moment to speak directly to those in our community—particularly our students—who feel marginalized and anxious, even afraid of what the future holds. It is important for you to know that the university is here to support you. Resources are available to you through the staff within the Division of Student Development. I encourage you to make use of them. We also reaffirm the university’s commitment to an inclusive and welcoming campus community. And we pray for unity, compassion, respect and healing in America and across the world. There is much work to do and it will take time, but let us begin by coming together as a community inspired by our shared mission and uplifted by our care for one another.” Read more statements and announcements by Father Sundborg here.
