Seattle University students, faculty, and staff have lived through tremendous challenges as we seek to prepare a health care workforce in a triple pandemic world, (COVID, reckoning with the impacts of oppression and racial injustice, and experiencing the great shake up of people leaving / changing their jobs). Now more than ever we need to find our own moral compass, muster up the courage to do the right thing, and commit to living a life of reflection.
The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) has re-accredited the Seattle University College of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing program for 10 years, extending their accreditation to December 31, 2032.

The College of Nursing recently secured two grants led by Dr. Carrie Miller totaling $480,000 that will significantly enhance simulated learning experiences for nursing students.
Kumhee Ro, DNP, ARNP, FAANP, Assistant Professor of Nursing, was named one of only six health care professionals across the country for the 2022-2023 class of Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) Health Policy Fellows, administered by the National Academy of Medicine (NAM).
Three Seattle University Doctor of Nursing Practice students, Erin Fitzgerald, Lucy Maher and Athena Bollozos are among the next cohort of Washington State Opportunity Scholarship (WSOS) Graduate Scholars. With the intention of increasing the number of providers in Washington’s medically underserved areas, this scholarship supports Nurse Practitioner students from Washington who are pursuing primary care and behavioral health-focused degrees.

This fall, Mirette Aziz, MBA, RDCS, RDMS took on the role of Director for the Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Ultrasound (DIUS) program at SU College of Nursing.

The exhibit “Pandemic, Protests, and Perseverance: Learning from the Experiences of BIPOC Nursing Students through Participatory Photography” showcases photographs by BIPOC nursing students who worked with Dr. Jennifer Fricas using the photovoice method to share their experiences. View the exhibit on the 3rd floor of the Student Center throughout Fall quarter.

Alumna, Kayla Shull, '21, was featured in the Seattle University Graduate Viewbook. Shull earned her undergraduate degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies and Psychology at SU in 2014 then returned to pursue her DNP in the Psychiatric Mental Health NP program. She currently works with inmate patients at King County Jail Health Services.
